I drove my mom's car today with my new gloves and it feels great!

The grip was perfect, not too grippy and not too slippery, made me felt like a pro cus I felt an excellent sense of control over the wheel.

You should try it too!

I wear my old ones when i mow the lawn. That may just be because I'd rather be riding my bike.

I too wear an old pair when mowing the lawn. Then my hands don't tan, just the little circle on the back of my hands.

I also wear them while raking leaves in the fall (my hands aren't tough like a construction worker's).
Yes I actually rake the leaves. Most of my neighbors don't own a rake. They use a blower to clean up the leaves in their yards. They also look "very pregnant". Not a good look for a man!

I use my old gloves for everything around the garden: hoeing, digging, mowing, rakeing ...carrying lumber for building projects, swinging a hammer...there are no end of things that old gloves are useful for.

That is a lesson in frustration, trying to find a lost glove. I buy several pair exactly alike so there is always a replacement.

1) Nose wipe.
2) Insect repellant.
3) People repellant.
4) Sword grip.
5) Murder gloves (when avoiding leaving a palm-print.)
6) Fashion statement (look, I'm a cyclist.)
7) Gauntlet for challenging cads (little ones.)
8) Good boiled (when starving...add salt, unless after a long ride in which #1 above applied.)
9) Dog chewy (your own dog only, of course, and only when you've lost the match.)
10) Catcher's mit (for you tough guys.)
11) Boxing gloves (for a "handicap.")
12) Winter gloves for a pickpocket.
13) Winter gloves for a incurable nose-picker.
14) Summer gloves (fashion can be strange, you know.)
15) Props for the gameshow, "name that smell." (before the dead raccoon, but after the week-old wet tee shirt.)

Once in a foreign country while travelling, my Mom gave someone the "ok" sign--making a circle with the thumb and index finger. Their eyes widened and they walked off in a huff. Turns out, "ok" in the U.S. is the same as, "a$$hole" in that country. Remember U.S. President Bush's visit to Australia, when he gave the "victory" sign...backwards!

It's no wonder we Americans have such a negative image...

I got one that nobody has seemed to mention.

I use one of mine for disc golf, when I play. The grips is amazing.

For anyone who doesn't know: Disc golf is a game that is played like golf but replace the ball, cup, and clubs with a frizbee (disc), and a cage. I've only played a couple times but they have leagues and everything over here.

I had to buy a new pair of gloves recently because the dog ate one of them. A couple of weeks later I had to buy a new saddle for my daughter's bike because the dog ate the covering of the comfort saddle. If he EVER eats my Selle Italia Flite Ti saddle, I'll use HIS hide to re-cover it!

I wear cheap terry bicycle gloves when mowing lawns. I also use handlebar tape on all of my mowers. This completely eliminates numb hands caused by running a lawn mower for 6 to 10 hours every day (I do this for a living).

BTW- People who frequently operate vibrating machinery (chainsaws, lawn mowers, etc) can end up with PERMANENTLY numb hands caused by damage to a nerve that runs thru the palm of the hand. There is a name for this condition but I forget what it is.
