Lots of people riding around today

Nice to see, lots of people riding their bikes today, probably lots of organized rides but just a lot of people riding around town, enjoying themselves. Nice to see people out of their cars and enjoying life for a change.

Here, too. I was absolutely astonished at the number of adults out enjoying their quality hybrids ... Giants and Treks mostly. Some on the streets and some on the local bike path (a very nice ride if you're going 8-12 mph). Go folks! I'd also say about half were wearing helmets.

Yeah; and I didn't get honked at; yelled at; or cut-off.. I even had a motorist roll down his passenger-side window to tell me that I didn't have to stop at a light! (I was going right-to-left at the top of a "T" intersection.)

There has been a steady stream of bikes, especially cruisers, headed for the beaches today. Right now the fireworks are going off so it's like the calm before the (traffic) storm.

Indeed i have been seeing many bicycles on the road since I got back. Maybe I just did not notice it when i was not as interested in cycling as i am now but it just seems like a lot.

On another note- Most of the bicycles i saw were from Trek or some other LBS brand, very few dept store bikes.
