Giant Cypress SX vs. Specialized Crossroads XC Pro

I was all ready to buy a Giant Cypress SX. It seemed to have the most bang for the buck in the Hybrid category at the $700 price point. Today I took a closer look at the Specialized Crossroads XC Pro, It looks alot like the Giant but with upgraded components-better gears, fork, seat, etc. at $1000. Does anyone have an opinion on whether the extra $300 is worth it? I've read the few posts online about both and they all seem pretty positive except the fairly lame fork on the new Cypress SX.
    Thanks in advance.

They are two different price points. Do you want to spend $700 or do you want to spend $1000? $300 is obviously buy you upgrades.

I looked at the sx, plus the cross roads xc pro, and the cannondale bad boy ultra. The xc pro seemed like a really good deal for an all round city bike. I'd definitely get that over the giant.
In the end, I decided I didn't really need a shock and got a giant ocr touring instead.

Thanks. I looked at the Bad Boy Ultra at Gotham Bikes last year. I don't remember why I decided against it.
