biking montreal-new york
hello... ive never done a long bike trip before...but me and my two friends are trying to organize a bike trip montreal to newyork and im wondering if anyone has any advice or knows a good place to find information that wemight need. any advice would be great!!! thanks.

hmm thats the thing...we pretty much are starting from scratch my friend in montreal has some idea but i dont...do you know anything about those routes?

Are you saying Mont to New York State or to New York City?
I can not help with Montreal, but once out of the city, there are tons of roads that are nice to ride on down into NY. My own pref would be to ride rt 9 South as far as possible. there are several additons to 9 (9B, 9N, etc.) that are great as well. 9 will basically take you through the lake areas (Champlain, George, etc.), or you can take rt 30 South through the ADP, then find a suitable route towards Albany and down to NYC.
I think if you got a good map (like a gazzeteer), you could plan a nice trip. I know there tons of B&B's around as well.

thanks that is a great start....one more question do you know what kind of time frame we should be looking at. we havent been biking yet this season but we have been treeplanting the last few months so were in good shape...oh and we are planning to ride all the way to new york city
