Specialized Comp Road Shoes

Well, after lots of deliberation, reading reviews here and on roadbikereview.com, looking at the MFR's website, and trying them on at a LBS, I decided to order the Specialized 05' Comp Road Shoes from Specialized.com. Out of the 6 bike shops in the Lou metro area, only 2 carry the Specialized stuff. They didn't have my exact size, but one half size up .... and "MAN WERE THEY COMFORTABLE"!

The most comfortable cycling shoes I've ever tried. However, to be honest ... the Sport shoes, Comps, Comp Carbons, and Pro Carbons were ALL "very" comfortable. Wow! I'm done with my Shimano shoes.

I was actually kind of bummed and put off by the fact that you HAVE to pay retail for Specialized items ... given they don't sell online (for the most part), etc. And, I waited 2 weeks watching eBay and no luck for shoes in my size that I would want.

Hopefully, they will fit perfectly and I'll have many comfy miles ahead of me when they arrive and I get out and ride.

Anyone else with these or similar shoes from Specialized?

I purchased a pair of Carbon Pro's a month ago...not a single regret. Specialized apparel has really impressed me lately with all the BG stuff. I now have BG gloves and a Alias 130 seat.

I agree totally! I just switched to a Avatar 143mm saddle. I may try their BG gloves as soon as my current steeds begin to wear a little.

Yep, the shoes are awesome! I would've definitely ended up with the Carbon Pro's also ... just couldn't justify the extra $90 or so at this moment.

I caught mine on a clearance weekend at the LBS. I tried all the different shoes they had and nothing compaired to the Specialized.

I left a pair in my hot car every day last summer, the glue that holds the velcro together melted and seperated. They still have enough grip, but I do not leave them in the car, anymore. Just a word of caution.
