I mean everyone and everything comes out for this ride. Very social event, very low key. You get the racer types, you get the families, you get the urban folks on the single speeds. EVERYTHING. I promise you nobody will care about your gear.
Just come out and have fun and enjoy the scenery.
If you see me, say "hi", I'll be one of about 1700 people pulling their kids in a trailer. I will be one of the few with a trailer doing the full ride though.

I'm thinking I might. I hadn't even heard about it until the day it happened last year, so I missed it. It's funny because about a week before it I rode across all the bridges downtown except the I-5 and Freemont, just for kicks. I'd do it just for the chance to see the Freemont bridge up close, since I've never really felt comfortable stopping my car to admire it as I drive across.
I hate to sound like a cheapskate (I am), but is the registration mandatory? I'd kind of prefer to just meander along my own route than heading out to St. Johns (where I already live) and then coming way back to the Steel bridge.
Anybody going to be wearing a bikeforums jersey so we can spot you? I'm afraid I don't have one, but I'll definitely say hi if I see one.
