it's true, rugby is seen more as a college sport...in the southern hemisphere (where they don't have ice hockey or football) rugby is the sport for big tough guys....seriously, some of the pacific island guys are HUMUNGOUS! i've watched rugby and actually like it, even though i am not a big fan of american football. It's too bad it's not more popular.

I am seeing more bicyclists around Reno than I used to and using mine for transportation when the load is not too bulky or heavy.

What I cannot figure out is some of the items apparently considered sports here. When did Poker become a spectator sport? The amount that it is broadcast on some of the ESPN channels is IMO ridiculous. If Poker is a sport then what is next, Chess or Tiddlywinks?

If you put enough money into it anything can become popular.

IF they gave $10,000,000 To the overall winner in the Tours Cycling would be all over TV. Look at Golf. It sucks but it has alot of money. Same with poker.

This was discussed in the Road Bike forum a while back. It was found that all really great cycling nations also produced and ate really good cheese. As Americans our American cheese just doesnt stack up. How can you be a great cycling nation without a great cheese?
