Burley Nomad Trailer: Locking/Securing?

Hey everyone,

The SO and I recently were able to get a Burley Nomad for about 40% (thanks to my LBS). He has concerns about using it to go shopping and how to lock it up. So the question is, how do you secure your trailer when doing errands?

I have a Burley D'lite. I run one of those plastic covered Kryptonite cables through the frame and secure it with a Kryptonite U-lock.

I rarely leave the trailer in places where it might be at risk. But when I do, I carry a six foot cable. I disconnect the trailer from the bike, and put it alongside whatever I lock to. I lock the bike with a u-lock, and run the cable through wheels and body of the trailer and onto the u-lock.

Do you mean how to secure the top so people don't just open it up and take stuff? I haven't approached that problem with my Nomad yet, amazingly people just don't seem to get into things like that. In a bad neighborhood that might be a different issue .... as for locking the trailer itself, so far I just count on a prospective theif taking even longer to figure out that hitch than I did, he'd be there all day!
