Update Time!!
Well tonight didn't get out for much of a ride (bout 5 miles around the neighborhood) with everything else going on. But tonight I did get some work done on the website. I've now got nearly ever view's "version 1" completed. Except for the Month View. Which I hope to work on tomorrow evening and get something up for every view.

Week In View does exactly what it sounds like - and is where you land when you first view the page (Current Week). Forward and Back weeks work as well letting you skim through the ride history by week quickly. Year In View is a simple one ride per line view of every ride so far this year (that I've got around to hard coding into the database so far). I'll probably brake this up into 50 rides per view with a forward/back button in the next revision when I get 50+ rides in the system. The Bike views show the last 25 rides (or less at the moment as there aren't that many rides total) for that bike. Lets me see my recent road milage vs my MTB milage and speeds at a glance. -- Also tells me I've been neglecting the mountain bike.

Much more planned and fine tuning to do. Oh, and of course, I have to build the Add/Edit screens but those you all can't see so I won't bore you with details.

Original Post:
Well, after using a blog website for a while (xanga.com) and then finding activebody.org (a huge improvement in the ability to track stat's no doubt there) I've decided to cook up my own webpage to keep track of my stats, post ride reviews, show off my slow but steady progress and such. The one gripe I had with activebody was that I couldn't link anyone to my ride's stats and you couldn't view info about anyone else unless you were on their team.

So tonight I started working on what will become an asp/mysql driven cycling blog, record, thing. Currently planning to have weekly, monthly, and year to date views. In addition I am going to link up my guestbook table to this page so I can allow other cyclists and friends to post votes of confidence, support, and what not.

The weekly information is completely fictional and is only there for display purposes. I'll be working on developing this view after I get home from my morning ride tomorrow. I'm open to suggestions on how to make the page better if anyone has any ideas. The Month In View will be a standard calender layout view, and the year to date will be a single line listing per ride (maybe limit of 100 per page if speed becomes an issue). I will also probably make a standard header table with general stat totals such as week/month/year total milage like activebody.

I currently have the mock-up of the Week In View page up on my website at the following address:
https://jonpfischer.com/CyclingLog.asp

Look forward to hearing some initial feedback. I'll post updates as development continues!

I like the style......simple, tabular, easy to follow.

The whole website is a nice site for a personal site....I like they simple layout without being "stupid simple".

Good luck on the engagement.

Thanks for at least checking out activebody.org. Good luck with your own work and what ever you do keep biking!

Cheers,
Clint

Heya Clint - I plan on keeping up both probably - at the very least till I get mine exactly the way I want it. You have done some incredible work over on your site and just hope to be able to come close to what you've been able to accomplish and just tweak it a bit to my own needs.

Tonight I finished up the week-in-view display on the page. All of the other views will just generate an empty page for the time being till I create them. Though with the work that I've got done now, the year and bike specific views should come together quickly. Only the month in view will take some time as it will be a completely different look. Gave me something to do tonight while it was raining cats, dogs, and big streaks of light all over the place. I hope the storms move out tomorrow so I can get back in the saddle.

No worries! This is just how activebody was created... I was using something that didn't fit 100% and thought I could build something that could. Have fun!
