Naples Cyclery - Excellent LBS

Got to praise Naples (Florida) Cyclery for excellent customer service. I purchased a Specialized Dolce last week and after riding it about 19 miles, determined it was way too small for me. Now... it was my fault for getting too small a bike - went in, asked for a Dolce in 48 cm size. Rode once around the parking lot and said "I'll take it." STUPID ME! Didn't hang around to get fit - just took the bike home.

So, I called Monday and explained the situation and asked whether I could bring it in and make a trade for an Allez. The LBS guy said bring it in, so I drove down there today. Not only did they take the bike back (for a small restocking charge - very small), but took a lot of time to fit me to the correct size bike. What a difference! And they prepped the bike while I waited - because they knew I had a long way to drive home and didn't want to have to come back the next day.

I can definitely recommend this LBS.

Nice that they took it back, but did they offer any fitting advice on the first trip? I'm surprised they just let you take the bike out for a test ride without doing any sort of fitting (even very basic).

I really didn't give them a chance - in my inordinate 'widsom', I *knew* how to fit the bike myself. Am not usually that single minded, but had fixated on a certain bike and certain size - and my common sense just went out the door. Perhaps I can blame it on getting old and cranky?
