Any of you people in lovely La Crosse? I'm wondering if there's anywhere in La Crosse I can rent/obtain a decent road bike or flatbar road bike for use while I'm there about 10 days on my annual Thanksgiving pilgrimage. (Weather permitting...) The closer to downtown or the Shelby end of town, the better.

Hey Bkr ... I am not in LaCrosse (I live a ways south in Beloit), but there are great trails in the area and a fair number of bike shops. You should have no trouble finding a bike during your trip. Sorry I can't provide details, but would be happy to look something up if you need it.

There are three bicycle shops in La Crosse. I'm only fimiliar with one, the fartherest from the south side. That's Buzz's Bike shop. I've been by Valley Ski and Bike, but the last time I drove by they had a big sign saying that they were moving. Somewhere close I believe. Gene's Bike shop is the closest to you.
Apparently all three rent bikes.
BUZZS BIKE SHOP 800 ROSE ST 54603 (608) 785-2737
GENES BICYCLE SHOP 2242 STATE RD 54601 (608) 782-7233
VALLEY SKI & BIKE 321 MAIN ST 54601 (608) 782-5500
