In order of acquisition:

1) Specialized Stumpjumper Comp: My first bike and my most trusted. I got this used and in kind of bad conditin. Now it's a gorgeous and very worth bike. I use this for cruising around town and commuting, but it still makes it to the trails when the other MTB is out.

2) Bianchi Super GL: This is my "Main Battle Bike." It's my celeste-colored, dual suspension, full XTR, dream bike. Naturally, I use this as often as possible. I got it as a gift. It was a much better bike than I was a rider, so I set about changing that as soon as I got it.

3) Bianchi Alfana: My first road bike. I bought it for $200. I replaced all the black parts with white parts and called it the "Great White Flight." I rode my first century on this one.

4) Cinelli Unica: Actually, I don't have this one yet, it's in the mail. It's going to be the sexiest bike I've ever seen. I have some red Aeroheads from Mike Garcia that I'm going to put on the bright red frame.

I'm only 20, but I know there will be many more to come. I love building them almost as much as I love riding them, so why should I stop?

I have:

'98 (I believe) Breezer Storm MTB set up for commuting. Has 1.0 tires and taller gears. Otherwise all other parts are hand-me-downs from my or my husband's mountain bikes. Averages about 80-100 mi/week.

'93 McMahon Ti hardtail which has the misfortune of not seeing anymore trail time due to.....

'05 Santa Cruz Blur. A one-off, custom-built bike with too many blings to list. Love my new Blur!

3 bikes.

1.) Heavy duty touring/commuting bike, custom built in the mid '80s... was my "perfect" bike at the time. Has braze-ons for everything. Phil Wood hubs and BB, flat bars with friction thumb shifters. Needs good overhaul and new paint... several 10s of thousand miles. Fits like a glove. Just gets used to cruise around the mesa... down to the beach...

2.) '80s Crit bike. Sannino, all Galli Groupo... couple of Campy parts. Nice bike, but the frame really isn't all that comfortable for long rides... agressive seat tube angle. Ridden ~100 mi a week.
Red. Must wear kit.

3.) Garage sale bargin... fat fat tires, tractor seat, cheap platform pedals. Gets ridden to any close shop for whatever. Great on the beach boardwalk. Too ugly to have any real style. Prefers to be ridden in flip flops or sandals.

Well my bikes are listed on my signature at the bottom, but here is the breakdown on how much they are ridden:

1. 04 Trek 5200 Team Bike: Bought used from a nice guy in TX. But to look at this bike you'd think it just rolled off the showroom floor. It's virtually mint. I have put about 1,100 miles on it this year, but it has never seen rain, or bad weather and is reserved for tour rides and the occasional race. Sometimes I grab this bike for an attempt at a "personal best" ride and it never dissappoints. :-)

2. 05 Trek 5000: Same frame, stem, bar and fork setup as the 5200. Lower groupos (Ultegra and 105 vs Full Ultegra) Came with a triple, but I am converting to double this winter. This is my training and club riding bike. This bike sees 90% of my riding and feels almost exactly like my 5200, just a little heavier.

3. 1999 Klien Pulse II Mountain Bike: This was the last of the breed. Upgraded to this bike from my Trek 930 Singletrack. This was when Klien still owned Klien and made all their frames in house. It has all finished welds on the power gradient tubing and rides like a hardtail should. Still a heck of a bike and climbs like a billy goat! I only mountain bike a half dozen times a year now that I'm a rodie convert, but this bike can still handle anything the trails can dish out. After 6 years and countless hard miles, this bike still looks and rides like new, although it may be time for some new rims next season.

I am also in search of an older steel/alu frame Trek road bike in good shape to use as a tourer/around town/casual road bike for next year. You know... a frame in nice shape that maybe needs some rims and a few other parts, but isn't a complete project.

A TT bike is somewhere off in my future, but at like $3,500 it still a dream.

If I had more room... I'd probably have more bikes! LOL

Four bikes:
Litespeed Tuscany - Prime roadbike. Ridden more often and more miles than anything in the stable. Love this bike!
Litespeed Niota Ti- New to the home, still breaking it in (less than 500 miles). Prime mountain bike. So far seems excellent. Super light and manueverable. Actually gets a little on-road time if I feel lazy and just want to go for a loop around the house.
Felt F1X Cyclocross - This is the bad weather, night ride bike-better brakes and wider/heavier tires than the Tuscany. Also serves as a loaner for others.
Foes FXR - Heavy/gnarly trails, goofing off-hardcore play. Used to be #1 mountainbike, but the Niota now has that place. However, works great in its roll. Can be used a spare for others to ride. Better down hill than the Niota, but much worse going up. More stable-handles slower. Heavier (5 lbs) can be felt.

A - Kona Dew fitted with moustache bars (around town, errand, wet-weather bike) - about 120 miles/week

B - Outback road bike with full Campy (weekend bike -about 60 miles/week)

C - Panasonic road frame being converted to fixed (no miles yet - will replace Dew as exercise bike)

D - Nashbar touring frame (hasn't arrived yet - will replace Outback for trips of 50 miles +)

Recumbent - Future bike - not yet fully comprehended - will use for vacation riding

This thread is old, I know, but it's a great thread. Why do I say so? Well, I am a Jeeper. And I frequent a Jeep forum very similar to this one. And I hang around Jeepers all the time, and by reading this thread I have found that if you take out the word "bike" in all these posts and use the word "Jeep", you'll confirm that basically people are the same wherever you go, they just have different toys.

Back on topic: my very modest and entry level stable include -
1) an older Fuji Absolute road bike, used for anything in the city, errands, bills, etc.
2) very new Giant Warp. My butt needs some comfort these days. Used for cruising local flat trails. I'm in it for the fun.

I visualize no additional bikes in my future, but Jeeps? Now that's another story ...

See sig.

LeTour is being tuned/refirbushed for winter riding on the trainer.
Trek is used for virtually 100% of outdoor riding.
C'dale is currently in need of a tuneup/refurb. Maybe as a commuter.
