1992? Cannondale Racing 700 2.8 ! HELP!
Can someone tell me what I have?
7 Years ago? I purchased a used Cannondale R700 2.8 Series. It's serial number is 65602924997. The other number on the underside of the bike is B1-0302. When I purchased it it had Scott Areo Bars & Cinelli bull horn handlebars with twist shifters on the Aero bars and 105 levers on the bar ends. I converted them a few years ago to drop bars with SORA shifters / brake levers (The best I could find for a double/7-speed bike) The bike has barely had 1000 miles on it since I purchased it. It is in good shape with the exception of some paint chips and two small scratches/gashes from a bike rack. The rest of the components are mostly all Shimano 105 (Crank, brakes, derailers, etc) with MA2 Argent Mavic 700 Wheels. I have started riding again 500 of those 1000 miles have been in the last month or so. It is a great ride. I can't decide what to do with it. Should I transerfer the groupo to a new frame (Replace SORA shifters with 105's or better on a 8-9-10 speed)? Should I trade it in or sell itas is? Should I increase other components, maybe even give it a new paint job and keep riding it?
Any idea what it would be worth? Should I be riding such an old ride?
Thanks,
Steve
