Jamis Coda Sport VS. Kona Dew Deluxe

Which do you think would be the better bike to start off with for someone who has had a 35+ year lay off from riding. 48 years old, 6ft. 2in., 280lbs.

the main difference is steel vs. aluminium. Your choice. Try them both.

I've test ridden the Coda Sport and was very impressed by the way it handled and otherwise performed. Ended up buying the Coda Elite, which is simply a great hybrid in my book. Test drove a few others and wasn't as impressed. However, I never rode a Kona, so I can't offer any opinion there. I've heard great things about that company as well, so hopefully I'll be able to give one a spin someday.

I own the Dew Deluxe. AWESOME bike! I modified mine with road bars, and later moustache bars, but the bike is well-made with quality components from the factory. IMHO, you can't beat Kona for the $$$. Happy shopping!
