So I'm shopping for a bike for my girlfriend, and have no idea where to go really.
She wants something lighter (her current bike is a Bridgestone BUB, which she says is too heavy, even though it's cute) that she can ride up the steep hills in our town, but she wants to sit upright on it, since being bent over very much is really hard on her wrists (she has tendonitis). Any suggestions? Also, she needs something very cheap, so used and old is the way to go. I just have no idea where to look, or even what to look for. I ride an old schwinn worldsport that I love the weight of, and the price was perfect, but she doesn't like the handlebars. Thanks in advance for your help!

kerkyra, you might try contacting any local bike clubs in your area to see if they have a classifieds or for sale section in their newsletter, website, etc.

I'm interested in a response to this too. I've been looking for a good CHEAP bike in my thrift stores and such, and am curious as to what I should be looking for.
What is considered a great deal? What are some of the lighter old bikes? How do I identify them?
