WHOOOOHOOOOO!
WAY TO GO TO THE STAFF OF BIKEFORUMS.NET!
I saw the "site will be unavailable while we switch servers" notice the other day.
The site is CLEARLY faster than it was. I'm in awe of how fast I can post a reply now - instant post where before it took as much as 30 seconds after the submit button was clicked.
WAY TO GO!
BTW: where did the "Post Quick Reply" box go at the bottom of the pages? I don't see it anymore.

AH! I'm an idiot. (no, you may not quote me on that
I saw a horizontal blue bar at the bottom of the page with the heading "Quick Reply" but nothing below it. Oh look - a little "expand" arrow at the right side of the bar. Tada!
I'd never seen it "minimized" like that - hence the confusion. (using the QR box for this reply too)
BIKEFORUMS.NET IS THE FOSHIZZLE! This is such a fast server!!!

More placebo effect. We haven't moved to the new server yet because the move failed. So any preceived improvement is all in your head. Sorry to break it to you.

There's a measurable difference. Whatever the reason, it's there. I wasn't even going to comment except I noticed a huge speedup over the last few days.

Maybe a lot of people saw the "we will be down" notice and are staying away, so the site is running faster.

That could be it.
