Puget Sound Riders

Cascade Bike club has announced that the anual Seattle Spawn Cycle will be a benifit for the Huricane victims. Come one and come all it shoul dbe a good time.

Dear Cyclist:
This is Chuck Ayers, Executive Director of Cascade Bicycle Club and the Cascade Bicycle Club Education Foundation. In response to the recent tragedy in the southeast, our Board and staff have decided that we should do what we can to help our fellow citizens. Consequently, we will be donating all the proceeds from our Cascade Spawning Cycle ride Sunday, Sept. 18th to hurricane relief efforts. We are also working with our great sponsors and vendors to cut costs as much as possible to maximize the donation we can make on behalf of the cycling community. Please join us on our great tour of urban Seattle and assist those who are in such great need.

DETAILS

Register for the Cascade Spawning Cycle on Sunday, Sept. 18 and Cascade will donate all proceeds from registration to the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief Fund. Cyclists of all ages can enjoy a great ride PLUS make a difference in the quality of life for people deeply in need of OUR help and assistance. Cascade Bicycle Club has had a tremendous year and we now ask YOU, our fellow Pacific Northwest cyclist to join us in helping to raise funds.

We will also feature a fun New Orleans style post-ride celebration at the finish line with Louisiana music, Krispy Kreme Donuts, Ballard Brothers Famous Cajun Salmon burgers (no-host) and Red Cross donation buckets!

You can register by mail through Sept 9th or online until Sept 14 or just show up on the day of event with cash or credit card. Anyway you do it, rest assured that funds will be going to a great place. The Cascade Spawning Cycle starts and ends on Seattle's waterfront at Myrtle Edwards Park. For more information on the exciting four routes suitable for all ages please visit the event website If you can't make the ride but still want to give please visit the American Red Cross website directly for donations.

Thanks so much. I look forward to seeing you on the ride.

Chuck

OK! What is the problem... refugees are getting sent here! do they have transportation? NOOO. I am getting a little dissapointed with everyone ever because i can't find anyone fixing up old bikes for transportation for these people. does ANYONE know if something is happening like this... anywhere? i really would like to help out. contact me... beatsalad@gmail.com
thanks.

PS somehow i think doing this would do more for bikes and do more for the refugees than a benifit ride...
