brake lever questions
I’ve done some google searching on this, but I can’t seem to find out, does shimano make a road brake lever (not STI) with a brown/tan hood? Or do they make brown/tan replacement hoods? I have seen that campy makes them, are they compatible with avid shorty 6 brakes? And all of the components on the bike are shimano, is there a problem with mixing brands such as this? Thanks for your help.

You should be able to use the Campy lever with the Avid brake with no trouble. It's just a brake lever, not a brifter. You can't mix a Shimano lever with a Campy brake, as the Campy brake does NOT have a release to open the caliper, and the Shimano lever lacks the release button that Campy uses.

Some 30 mph winds, but no rain at all. I'm close enough to Savannah, GA I can smell it.
