What year bike?

How can you tell what year bike you have? How can I tell if I have an '04 or an '05, etc? Does each mfg have their own system within the serial number or something?

color schemes, component sets, ect. You can look up serial numbers through manufacturers and they can tell also!

I checked the Marin website but didn't see a link that would provide that info. Did I overlook it?

If you have the serial number you could try emailing them.

Here's a site that gives you directions to date most components:

http://www.vintage-trek.com/component_dates.htm

Most all components are stamped with a least a code for the date of manufacture.
