Latest Lance - Talk about spin

CHICAGO (AP) - The nasty tug of war between the bosses of the International Cycling Union and World Anti-Doping Agency over who leaked documents to a French newspaper accusing Lance Armstrong of doping claimed its first casualty on Thursday: Any chance of a comeback by the seven-time Tour de France champion.

Armstrong, who said just days ago that this latest fight to clear his name had stoked his competitive desires, made clear on Thursday he wasn't interested in returning to the sport he dominated.

So Lance is not coming back ... Surprise surprise. But is is noteworthy that the paper calls his NOT coming back a result of the doping fight. Somehow they don't remember that before this issue came up there was no hint of Lance coming back.

I also wonder how someone who has NEVER won a season long championship can be said to dominate the sport.

Which is crap? teh first two paragraphs which is from the news article or my comments on them? I found it no surprise that Lance is not coming back. As I've said before Lance has brains and knows his prime is past. There is little in it for him to come back and much to lose. I stand by my comment that saying that his decision to not come back can hardly be called a casualty of the fight that was the only thing that even brought up the issue.

I also stand by my statement that it is simply not right to say a rider that never won a season long championship dominated the sport.

Oh wait I forgot most Americans think the TDF is all of cycling.

Lance should get into marathons. He's a little young for long distance running, but in a few years, his prime for running will come.

Besides, before he took up cycling, he used to do triathlons and running.

You really need to get an education on cycling. Why don't you read a little history on cycling. Read about Fausto Coppi, Eddie Merckx, Joop Zoetemelk, Bernard Hinault, Greg Lemond, Miguel Indurain, Claudio Chiappucci, Gino Bartali, etc. Then Read about Milan-San Remo, Het Volk, Ghent-Wevelgem, Paris-Roubaix, Liege-Bastogne-Liege, Vuelta a Espaņa, Giro d'Italia,Tour of Switzerland, etc. Cycling is NOT JUST the Tour de France! Learn your history.

Getting pretty tired of the whole Lance will-he-or-won't-he debate. Just retire already. You had a great run. Don't try to milk it.
