My "Soylent Green" vision
My brain works in strange ways when I get out on a ride. Today was a wonderful day for a ride. I get to commute to have lunch with my brother on Fridays. And the sky was blue with those puffy clouds, the sunshine, the temp. It was a great ride and a great day for a ride. But my head went to "Soylent Green" for some reason. I was pedaling and recalling the scene where Edward G. Robinson goes to die, and they play that scene of wonderful memories as he dies to become Soylen Green. Well I got to thinking that some of these days of riding with the sun, the road, the wind, the bike, the ache in my legs, would have to be my movie of memories when my turn to become Soylent Green comes.

Wow....I remember that movie - and that scene. Geez, how long ago was that filmed? I was really freaked out believing that I would become soylent green!

A friend of mine described some airplane food as 'soylent green'. They were these sort of 'pizza pockets' served on American Airlines.

If you can remember "Soylent Green", shouldn't you be posting this in the "Over Fifty" forum? 
(Do you remember "Omega Man"? That was another neat SciFi flick from those days....)

Considering all the old movies on cable, you don't have to be over 50 to have seen SOYLENT GREEN about ten times.. they show it on SPACE regularly. NOt long ago, they had a 'hest-fest' with all the Charlton Heston films. They had a funny promo, using clips of his films: The Jaw! The Squint! The Overacting! (at that, they showed him going GAAAAHHH!)

Yeah, I remember Omega Man, that was a disturbing movie as well. the white contact lens'. Then Chuck left like Christ on the cross in the fountain. there's another famous movie where the famous actor is left spread eagle, Paul Newman in Cool Hand Luke. There's a lot of wierd scriptural references in that movie.

i think i heard somewhere there was a remake of Omega Man in the works. don't remember who was slated to appear or what studio/director, though.
