Let me start out by saying that Jesus Crist is my lord and savior.

Just tell they're not allowed to cry to their mommy when you drop em (of course you have to back that up).

...so have you been saved today?
I know just enough to make some serious mistakes =)

Pirate, I’m curious, where were you when this happened?

I know many roadies are obsessed with equipment -- to the point of being snobbish toward anybody without the latest stuff. But to actually say something nasty is going way beyond the usual – I think that guy is just insecure and it made him feel just a little bigger to put down your bike… don’t let it bother you.
Of all the types of cyclists, the ones that I don’t even try to exchange greetings with anymore: the guys with lots of tattoos riding fixies – they seem to think that it would be beneath them to acknowledge me.

    A. Should have pulled out the heavy duty wire cutters and gone after the spokes on the $600 rims. (pretended to, I bet they would have shat)

    B. Say to them, " I didn't realize that the gay pride ride was in town"

Koffee - that's the right idea, but if you really want to put the fear of God in them, you have to get Old Testament on their asses. Shout things like "Vengeance is MINE, saith the Lord! Judge not, lest ye shall be judged!" That ought to get them up to lactate threshhold pretty quickly.

Goodness knows the guys on the street corner downtown yelling stuff from Exodus or whatever make me wish I had my bike under me instead of wingtips!

I am a roadie and can tell you that most roadies are jerks, but I am not sure if they realize it. Most of them are obsessed with sitting on their top tubes at the start line of group rides trying to outcool each other. Hell half cant even service their own bikes! I just got into MTBing in the last 6 mos an have found the attitudes way more mellow. More emphasis on how you ride not what.

With my kind of luck they would be some sort of nouveau, born-again God squad on two wheels
