Bike computer help?

Could someone please explain to me the TRIP UP/TRIP DOWN function on my new cyclometer? I inadvertently threw away my directions!

It would help to know the brand & model. I would try the company's website - it probably has the instructions available for download.

Thanks for the help. I checked out Sigma Sport and you were right~~it was all spelled out for me! I'll know to look it up first from now on.
