I am a newbie to the road cycling world and in the market for my first ride. My price point is around $1500. I plan on using the bike for long mountain rides as well as general training rides in flatter areas. I may do some duatholons but don't really have an interest in any "sprint" type races. I have recently narrowed down my search to the Bianchi San Mateo, the Lemond Sarthe, and the Cannondale R900. I am willing to expand my search if someone suggests a different bike at this price. Does anyone have anything positive or negative to say about the above choices. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
