Anyone else in Sacramento Metro Area get out today?
Temp in 50's, pouring rain flooding the trail, heavy wind, 100's of pigons crapping overhead, dark sky, ex-wife and I did a miserable .20 mile ride. Just sucked!

I'm about to head home from work and hop on the road for a while. The rain stopped mid-day and now everything looks pretty dry. What part of sac did you ride today?

I've heard of Roseville, but then again, I grew up in rocklin. The one thing I always loved about rain in Sacramento, is that it means snow in Tahoe. When the weather is bad, I just waxmy board and wait for cal-trans to plow 80.
Here in the netherlands, rain just means rain.

Even though it was windy, I managed a 2 hour ride on 12/31. I live near Woodland and Davis, besides having to cross some flooded country roads, pretty good ride!

I rode to the gym a few hours ago, about 2 miles each way. Was freaking fun! Raining and windy as ever. Hard to keep balance. I was smiling the whole way there

The weather has been nasty. Hard rain driven by hard gusts of wind. I went on a little pleasure ride on Sat during the break in the rain but the wind was still a blowin. Those cyclist in Denver are lucky. Its always nice in the Rockies.

I moved away in June but still miss the nice, long, paved AR bike trail. The worst problems came during the rains when sections of the trail would flood- particularly the lower part of the split part near REI and the area next to the golf course. I can't imagine being on it now with the heavy rains.

I stayed home today and just lazed around. But yesterday evening I spent a few hours on the ol' B17. That was on my Specialized hibrid. Then when I got back home I jumped on my Trek 400 for a quick spin and had to ask myself "Why I'm beating myself up riding a tank when I can be riding this?"

Light rain in the morining on the way in, but the ride home this evening was truly glorious. I am so glad for a dry day.

So where do you Placer County people ride? I didn't see one single cyclist while I was in Roseville over the last couple weeks (not that I was about, myself). I may spend a month down there with the family this summer and definitely want some rides down.

PM me with your address and I'll send ya a great map of placer county that details miles and miles of bike pathes and trails. And as Trevor98 will agree, the ride along the American River is one of the best bike rides in the country.

I can't ride yet. I don't have all the pieces to my new bike I'm building. It's a Cannondale 613 with all Campy Record components and Zonda wheels. The handlebars are VeloCarbon. I still need a seat post and gears.
I used to live in Roseville but now I'm in Cameron Park. Now I get to ride hills. I love heading down Green Valley road doing about 40 mph and the ride back up is not too bad. From my house I have ridden to downtown Sacramento and back many times, about 85 miles. This year I'm going to ride the other way, up the hill. Does anyone know of some good routes?

I think you mean Lodi, not Loomis, as in "Oh, Lord! Stuck in Lodi again..."
Yeah, the lower portions of the ARBT are totally underwater so both the Jiboom and Pipe Bridges are unusable for getting across the American.

used to live in El Dorado Hills east of Sac on HWY 50. Went back to visit with friends the one week they have torrential rains so I couldn't bike or play tennis. Oh well...CA still rocks my socks. Speaking of that the Kigs are on now
