seems like a marvel of space efficiency!

RonH 10-18-02 02:38 PM

YES!!!
Cause I get ZERO exercise sittng at a computer all day doing tech support.
Not good for the waistline or anything else. :(

roadbuzz 10-18-02 02:48 PM

Yeah! The open-air cube on the waterfront would be okay, too. At least on the good days.

I looked at this and thought it was neat but I've also done the trick of popping the bike into a trainer and sliding the front half under my desk (my desk is height adjustable so I just crank it up really high) achieving the same effect. I can type away at the keyboard and do my work while spinning. Admittedly, the keyboard has to be washed of dripping sweat afterwards. |8^(

it seems to work for that model...

Where do I get a pair of spd pumps? Perhaps my local lbs will begin to carry a line of professional bikeware. Will I need a padded skirt or do I sit side saddle? Oh No all these questions!

Sure hook it up to a dynamo and I'll use it to run my computer!

Woah! Cowbody, most computers run at about 250-350W, can you generate that at a sustainable rate? :o :p

Nice laptop!

We used to Jam in the basement, Id sit on the old torture excercycle and peddle all night playing the bass.
(with a ciggarrette hanging from my face, oh if only had known!!)

We were just talking about this at work today. (Yeah, we're a bunch of geeks!) Running your PC would be pretty tough, but a laptop would be no problem; they use around 25W, maybe a bit more if you're using the CD/DVD drive or other peripherals.

I remember hearing about some Internet fitness club where you could websurf and use their terminals as long as you kept exercising (spinning, running, etc). I'm not sure if the exercise machines were hooked up to supply power to the terminals though.
