Check out this article I found on CNN about bicycle touring in NYC. This article makes me want to zip out to the Big Apple for a ride!

Thanks Mike. Good read. If I ever have to go to NYC I'll bike.

I listened to it on NPR last week, it made NY sound like a great place to ride.

I would like to bicycle TO New York City. that would be more than 1,500 miles. Ahhh..... dream, dream, dream.

Maybe when I retire and don't have the strength to do it, THEN I'll take that vacation.

this kinda fits in, but last summer I went to chicago to visit my uncle and there was plenty of cycling to be had there, inside and outside downtown. the only problem I found (and you see this in many older cities) is the roads are very narrow, but other then that there are so many bike paths and routes you can go almost anywhere on them

I have found the same thing. Big cities are the best places for bicycling, despite common conceptions that cities are too busy or too dangerous.
