Transforming my MTB to Hybrid?
Hi all, I'm currently riding a Scott Voltage YZ-2 '03 that has mostly stock parts.
What actually qualifies the bike to be a "hybrid"?
Well, you see:
-I don't really ride the trials or do any DH stuff.
-I ride only as a form of transportation from my home to my mom's shop (which is around 2km away)
-ride to get some exercise
-run errands for my mother
as well as other stuff.
So far in the 5 months I've got the bike, I've got:
-a pair of Panaracer T-servs 1.75 (since I ride on the road mostly)
-Tioga metal platform pedals (threw away the stock plastic one)
What else do you think I need?
Didn't want to go clipless so that was why I got the platform pedals.

Hybrid-comfort? Road\urban?
I looked @ '04 models, not a super design for road. Have you set the bike to be ridden 'road.'
Meaning seat up\correct for leg extension. Looks like its more urban\jump and it is different to ride a bike dj\dh etc, as usually the seat is lower\bars higher (knees pointing out.) Riser bars would be way outta control!
Road\xc is the opposite with your bum up\ all leg\drive- low bars\ bent posture. With xc sometime you see road headsets\bars, but I think your frame has too sharply angled top tube. (unless it's large?) A seat designed for this 'road' posture is needed, narrower, and this is where the correct top tube length really comes into play (headset length\mods.)
I keep my seat up\ correct bb\leg while on the road. Quick release and drop the seat when dh\ rock hopping.

I wish to ride it as an road-urban bike.
