ok here goes,
I am trying to decide what kinda bike I should be looking at as a commuter/fun machine for the brisbane metropolitan area. I like mountain biking (at least the idea look fun, never actually done it ), but I cannot help feeling a road bike would be more comfy for commuting on.
so here is my question.
Are there enough mtb trails close to brisbane (QLD. AUS.) to warrant the possible slight discomfort of a mtb commute during the week (in terms of the mtb fun on offer during the limited free time of a full-time uni student). ?
Am I thinking wrong in believing there is any significant difference between a road and mountian bike on what is a relatively short stretch like my 40km commute (round trip).
thanks for your time.
P.S: by mtb I mean nothing more extreme than a hardtail, full suspension is too much I think.
