I looked out and decided to go for it. There was about an inch of snow over frozen ice, and I was sliding a little on some of the tire ruts. Just about the time I started thinking "I must be crazy", I passed another cyclist. A few minutes later, I passed another cyclist. Is everybody else starting to see more riders braving the inclement weather?

The commute went a lot easier once I got out of my subdivision.

No. Our Sunday rides start at around 8.30am and we don't see anyone till at least 11. Then the night rides- we have only ever seen one other group in 6 months riding the trails. Cold weather does seem to turn off a lot of "Hard" cyclists.
How long was I in the army? Five foot seven.
