My LBS offered me a job, heh

A few weeks ago I was at my LBS to pick up some cable housing, and they were swamped with customers. While waiting my turn, I helped another customer who was straddling a road bike that was waaaay too big for him. I pointed him to a more appropriate size, and we had a brief discussion on steel vs alum. That was about it.

Last night my wife and I got back from a trip to Toronto, and we found a message on our answering machine from the LBS. Seems they're having a big sale at the end of March, and they need some extra help during it. They also mentioned I'll be eligible for the employee discount on anything I order close to that weekend, including the new bike we're planning to get for my wife.

I think it sounds like fun. It's been 10+ years since I worked at a bike shop.

You must be a natural! Sounds like it'd be a nice way to get a discount on stuff. I know that I'd never be able to work in a bike shop. That'd be like putting an alcoholic to work at a liquor store.

Nice, probably worth it just for the discount.

Wow! Instead of "King for a Day" you get to be "Wrench for a Day." Life doesn't get much better than that. Have fun and in addition to the new bike, stock up on tubes.
