Cycling Shoes
Hey all, good to be back on the forums after a long hiatus. Anyhow, some of the local bike shops have been mailing me sale flyers. With the cycling season fast approaching, I am looking to upgrade my 02' Fuji Roubaix with some clipless pedals and other upgrades. I have been looking at the new Nike Kato 2 cycling shoes. Any of you have any experience with these, or any other dependable brand?

The most important thing with any shoe is the fit. With cycling shoes it's twice as important because you will be putting some real effort into them when pedaling.
Try a bunch on, get the pair that fits best.

Most Nike shoes I've tried were too narrow of me.
If you have a wide foot (bigger than D) they'll probably be tight.

Shimano shoes are excellent, but one caveat: their European-to-American sizes chart is weird. Example: my usual size is 11 or 11 1/2, which converts to 45 on most charts. Shimano equates 45 to 10 1/2. In fact their 45 fits perfectly. Had I ordered according to their chart, the shoes would've been too big.
