Ever had a bike parts order swiped from your front porch?

I'm used to using UPS because thats who QBP ships with. UPS don't deliver if I'm not home so no problem there, but this time I ordered some parts from nashbar who uses FedEx. So I track the package all day, and leave my house around 5 to get some work one at the shop. I come home aroun 10 and it says my package has been left on the porch. Its....not....on...the.....porch.

Anyone had similar experences? I'm depressed.

No, it's pretty safe around here. Place a claim with Fedex and Nashbar, they may both deny responsibility though Nashbar may do you a favor, you never know. If you are certain that it was stolen, you will need to report it to the police, at least that's what I would do.

Nashbar/Fedex tracking system of packages to my door is consistantly off by one delivery day, even when their system shows a delivered package. After checking their website that showed the package delivered to my door at like 5:30 PM I called them and all they could tell me was to call back tomorrow during regular business hours. Next day the package mysteriously appears on the porch. ??? This has happened with my last two Nashbar orders.

On 3-11-06 I Priority mailed some Ebay campy levers>$100 to a guy in NC.He emailed me yesterday-no levers!!I checked the delivery confirmation-it shows delivery on 3-13-06 in the early afternoon.
I sure wish he had let me know sooner,but...
He lives on a pretty tame street.Our-his-best guess-hope-is that his sons got them ,and put them somewhere without telling him. This apparently is a loser since I haven't heard from him and I'm sure I would if they turned up.My hope now is that they were mis delivered to some address like his-maybe a number off-and this good person has already returned them to the PO.Maybe the levers will show up on my porch.
I noticed that the USPS shows the levers as delivered to a city and zip code, but it doesn't show the actual address??What good is that-it narrows it down to what-10,000 houses in a zip code??
I think there is zero chance the fellow is trying to rip me off-he is a straight shooter.
What would you folks do??Any ideas? Thanks.Charlie
PS Yes,they could have been ripped off from his porch!!

Well, thats what happened. I didn't get robbed. Found the packages outside shortly after making the post.

I think its FedEx. How could it be nashbar's problem? In any case I'm glad to have recived my package(s), though I can't figure out why they didn't send me my yellow selle special turbo. Well in any case thanks for listening to me guys... back to building.

I often get delivery confirmation packes of decent value from USPS priority. I think what they do is update their website saying "Delivered" on the day it is scheduled to be. Not when it is actually delivered

Nacogdoches, TX - famous for having a space shuttle crash there, and for producing MERTON.

FedEx IS Nashbars problem. FedEx's tracking system shows a package having been delivered with a delivery time when in reality its not even close to being delivered.

Sorry to hear about that man. The regular UPS, FedEx guys that come to my parents house don't even bother ringing the door anymore, unless they need something signed

My great dane scares everyone away, the delivery guys hate her. Well I guess she would probably scare off anyone trying to steal something from me too.

I recently ordered from Performance. They said they no longer use Fdx and UPS for ground delivery only USPS.
My large package was left on the porch for all to see (in NYC). I think next time I will leave instructions to leave the package at the post office.

Check with your neighbors. Theyve done that to a buddy of mine a few times, left stuff with them and marked it delievered.

UPS isnt much better. They once dropped a package of mine off at a FedEX office instead of my old employers office 100 feet away. Yes, honestly.
