700C and 29 inch rims
 

Are 700C wheels and 29 inch wheels interchangable? I have a Trek 7.5FX with disc brakes and am thinking about upgrading the wheels. I have 700X32 tires. I was wondering if the rims were the same of if the 29'ers were wider. I have Bontrager Ranger rims now, are those 29'er rims?

both 28" and 29" can be marketing terms for 700c wheels with large tires but buyer beware.
