    Best HR monitor for no interference

    Okay, I've asked about HR stuff before, but after doing a lot of reading on models (often with not enough info!), I want to focus on exactly one thing - what is the best HR monitor more minimizing the problem of electrical interference? As I've used my present system, I'm finding too many places where it seems to mess up my readings. For one thing, it makes the "max" HR pretty much undependable.

    I guess any wireless system will have some problems, but surely some have a better design than others.

    I saw a comment somewhere about Timex using an FM system, but it wasn't clear if that was actually better.

    I haven't decided whether or not to go with the monitor as part of a computer or as a separate unit, so feel free to cover both. If it is part of a computer, I think I would want the other items (speed, distance, cadence) to be wired to take care of interference on those things. But HR with wires would be a hassle (assuming they even make them).

    I have not missed my HR monitor since wifey broke it ... percieved effort works fine for me.

    I can chime in for the Timex HRMs- they do use an FM transmitter, and I have yet to encounter interference or dropped signals. Highly recommended...

    Great. Hard to beat zero interference! Which one do you use?

    I too use a Timex. Just received it as a gift. I think it is a M585CN. Just started using it and it seems to work pretty good. Never noticed a dropped signal unless I'm messing with the strap. It's probably pretty low end but gets me the info I need.

    I have the Ironman 59751. Yeah, I got skinny wrists. I found mine on eBay cheap, about $60. I recently sent it back to Timex under warranty, the Indiglo crapped out. For $7, they sent me a new one in about a week.
