New Bike Advice

I posted a couple of weeks ago asking about rehabbing an old bike, but I think I have decided that I am going to get a new bike. I mostly ride on roads and bike paths, sometimes pulling two kids in a bike trailer. I have been looking and have narrowed it down to the following 4 bikes:

Trek 7.3fx
Specialized Sirrus
Bianchi Bay City
Cannondale Road Warrior

I added the Cannondale to my list after going to one of my LBS yesterday and looking at it. Not sure I can justify the price jump over the other bikes on my list. The other issue is that my LBS does not carry the Bianchi in stock, so I would be ordering it blind if I decided to go that route.

Any suggestions or comments would be much appreciated. This will be the first time I have bought a bike in about 15 years.

Thanks.

The Sirrus is the only bike I'm familiar with on your list but all of them are from top notch companies. These companies all compete directly so any bikes they offer in a comparable price range will have equivalent quality parts. Since it sounds like the Trek and the Specialized are in your price range and in stock, pick the one that you like best after a test ride. If you still find it hard to decide between them, buy whichever bike is sold by the bike shop you like best.
