Specialized Sirrus Comp 2004
So my LBS showed me a Sirrus comp today and I loved it. However, it is a 2004 model, but still brand new. They had it in a corner that nobody ever goes near. Said it had hung there for 2 years and I was the first person to even ask about it in over a year.
The sirrus comp from 2004 is not the same as the 2006 model. They were named a little different back then and it retailed for $979.99 (in fact the sticker still had that price on it).
After giving it a look over, it had zero problems that I could find (it still looks brand new). I rode it and loved it. I was able to get them down to $750 total. I told them I would take it if they gave it to me for that price, added a Cat Eye Mity 8 computer, and put some new Nimbus tires on. So they did.
My question to you is this: Do you think it was a good deal?

Absolutively! The sirrus comp up here (2006) goes for around 1200-1450cdn (not totally sure as it's out of my range) so you got a new bike, with new tires which is the only thing that would have aged as it hung there.
I assume that they will perform the pre sale inspection, lube and general tune up before you pick it up right. Good deal

Yeah. I own an Avanti Blade Comp, which is the Australian/New Zealand equivalent. It's a good bike - I have done over 5,000km on it - mostly commuting.
Does yours have a mixture of tiagra and 105 components and SPD pedals?
