<sigh> building my bike is taking a long time.

Mostly it's the painting that's been a PITA. Painted the fork, primed the frame, rain, no time to paint, finally got the frame painted (kinda a crappy job, but who cares it's a beater project), try to install the headset, so much for the paint job on the fork, more rain, more trouble finding time, finally the fork is 2/3 of the way painted again (just need to clearcoat it)...

And I still need to order the wheelset and BB/cranks/gears... I think I'll finally be able to do that this week at least. But I'll be pretty surprised if I have it together in time to ride it as soon as the doctor says I can ride again (2.5 weeks to go).

Is this your only bike? Might really be frustrating if you aren't done in 2 1/2 weeks.
If it isn't your only ride, I say take your time and do it right. Then post Pics!!!

Suicide project? Excuse me I don't plan on coasting, mr "meat grinder"...

Its got front and back brakes even, although they might work better if I find some pads somewhere. Where do you guys get your kool stops? Performance doesn't seem to carry 'em.

Nah I haven't touched my regular bike. I bought this as a project. My paint job has two goals, 1) keep it from rusting (steel frame) and 2) be bright green. Perfect finish is not required, especially since it'll be my first fixie, I might be falling over from time to time . I don't (at this time) ever plan on having a bike I cry over if it gets scratched...
