Real Freds/Phreds don't know their gear ratios, nor the brand names of the components on their bike; probably don't even know or care what is the brand name of their bike.

But that's OK, you wanna be King with me my brother? No problem, we are both Kings of the Road when riding our bikes.

We real phreds donth think we're phreds, we think we're cool and all the chicks dig us, in an alpha-dog kinda way as we impress them with our dynamic lane positioning.

You also need to wear knee high black socks and a spelunking helmet.
A true Fred also has his Medai floor pump bungeed to his rack.

To be a REAL Fred, you've also got to pontificate on everything bike-related as though you know what you're talking about (but don't). Wait - THAT'S ME!

King Phred, you really need to post a pic of your bike with all the accoutrements! I gotta know if you have any room for your hands on the handlebar!
Every time we let a vehicle pass there is a little bit of compromise. But compromise allows the city to function and allows cyclists to function in the city. The trick is not to eliminate compromise but to learn how to work safely within it.

Or something. Doesn't have to be a pump, but something has to be bungeed on.

Yes. Though it features Horizontal Stripes instead of Polka Dots. And the matching bib-shorts have pleats.

Does using bungee cords to stabilize the light display count on my current commuter (the Ragazzi)? Also use them to hold my bindle in the basket.

My former commuter in Germany, the aptly named Vaterland, had a Pretty Phreddy horn; in the States now the horn is gone but it has more bungees!

Wait a minute, has Sheldon Brown abdicated the throne or is this a coup?

Now if all that stuff was on a Specialized Tarmac(With 12-34 and Deore rear der) you would be a shoe in.

I like it too and I know why. It is practical, fun, reliable, safe, comfortable and costs a fraction of the price of theft bait that offers (for my purposes) a fraction of the value of my bike. It is built for comfort, not speed; just like me.

The Dictionary of Roadie Slang doesn't list no 'Phred' ? geeeeeeezzzzzz

I would take a picture of me steed but I ain't figured out this new fangled camera and I'm not going to read the instructions!

You say fancy socks like I wear shoes.

    Helmets are for crashers.

Bungee cords squash the roadkill. I use rope.

The King of the Freds jersey will happen shortly after the new BikeForums jersey.

This is all a conspiracy against me!!

Got any other angle shots of the light post on the Ragazzi? Does it fit through doorways?
