Most mediocre LBSs
The number of repeating "best LBS/ worst LBS" threads is getting a little repetitive.
How about listing some of most mediocre LBSs for a change?

This one time, I went to buy that nice Park chain tool cause my cheap one broke. It was there for $18, I asked if there were any sales or coupons. They said no. I bought it for $18.

Some of the local chain here only stock either entry level Trek MTBs or mid-high priced roadies, with almost nothing in between. They gave pretty good service and can order pretty much any bike you want, but stepping in to the store could be a pretty boring experience.
Luckily there are alot of bike shops to choose from here.

I went to Performance Bike for the first time Saturday. I'm in to vintage bikes, so there wasn't much there that was of interest to me. That's understandable, though. I went there to pick up a truck rack that was on sale. It was out of stock, but they could get me one in about a week if I prepay. I listened in while a salesman tried to sell cheap hybrid bikes to an older couple. He didn't seem to know much about bikes, but was willing to tell them anything to get the sale. I evesdropped at the repair counter, too. The mechanic didn't seem to know much more about bikes than the salesman. I don't think I'll bother going back.
