Cleanest place you have seen
What is the cleanest place you have ever ridden, where the streets were swept and you didn't have to worry about getting a flat every 5 minutes.
A few years ago when my husband and I bicycled to Balboa Island in California that was probably the cleanest area I have ever seen. Very quaint with little storybook cottages and not one speck of debris in the streets. The streets were narrow but no real traffic to speak of, it was a joy to ride there. Can't say much for the ferry though, it looked like a wood plank and I was none to excited to get on it.

Everywhere I go. I don't have more than about one flat in 5,000 miles.
Do you have kevlar belted tires, and scan the ground all the time for stuff on the ground?

Singapore. Anyone who's been there will tell you it's the cleanest city on earth. When I was there mid 80's, it was 50 USD for spitting, 100 USD for throwing trash (including gum and butts), and the citizens would hold you and call the doughnut patrol if you did so.

Anywhere that the TDF is going to go through. When it came to the UK. The roads were retarmacced- and I don't mean just Tarred and stoned- They were scraped and smooth tarmacadum went down. The towns were repainted, and Rubbish bins galore so you had no excuse to dump your litter. And the people along the route were friendly.

The south of France.... near Bandol, just north and east... Le Castellet. The roads were perfect... made even Disneyland look old and worn. The road surface just amazed me... so very smooth and even; even the edges were crisp and clean.
I was just in awe. The surrounding countryside were vineyards. I longed to ride there, but did not have a bicycle. I did rent a low powered scooter though... so the feeling was nearly the same, although sans workout.
The other thing that went along with this were the roadsigns themselves... I never had any doubt where I was going, even though I did not have a map and my French is very poor. The symbolic signs were very easy to follow.
It was heaven... I have to go back and take a bike... it would be a great tour.
The other nice place I have ridden is in new developments... just after they put in the streets, but before they get too far on the homes... the streets are wide, unlined and no traffic... and of course, brand new. The only problem is they don't go on for miles and miles. Sometime after they start building... streets get cut, painted and dirt and rocks get spilled on them... before too long, the roads look like everywhere else.

Beverly Hills residential for late night rides. Occassionally you have to deal with a cop late at night. But its a clean safe ride.

Definitely Singapore, they take public cleanliness seriously. Remember that American brat that got caned for graffiti?
Anyway, I was sitting waiting for a bus and the bus-stop on the opposite side of the street, a maintenance truck pulls up and bunch of guys hop out. Hey wipe down the bus-stop and benches and start working on the cracks & crevices in the concrete & tile with TOOTHBRUSHES! It was clean enough to eat off when they were done and I don't think it actually looked any worse off before they started anyway.
I doubt there's any glass on the streets, probalby would've been a jailable offence for sure!

They sweep our bike trails in Parker, and mow the sides regularly. Streets are generally great AFTER they clean up from the winter snows and the gravel they put down.
When I lead our "senior" group rides, as I did Monday over 20 miles of paths and roadway, there is never a thought of concern about road debris or trail debris.

Montreal is very well kept and girls ride bikes in skirts !
Here in the states Wilmington NC is one of cleanest too, even the public housing projects are well kept, traffic generally sucks though
