Routeslip.com

Does anyone know of a good website where you can enter your ride info, and it will show you your distance and elevation? I've been messing around with routeslip.com, but it's so touchy that if you make one little mistake you gotta start over....gets a little frustrating!!!

Thats the first time I've heard of this one. Doesn't seem that touchy, if you click on the anchor point you can "Remove It". I've been using something similar at www.gmap-pedometer.com, but I like this Routeslip better, only need one click for an anchor point, gmap requires two.

I use both with the nod to Routeslip. However I have had to reregister a couple of times, it keeps loosing my password for some reason. I like the elevation feature...never knew I was loosing and gaining so much on my short rides

I like this RouteSlip as well. I found that if you right click on a pin point, you will get an option to remove that pin point if you put it there by accident. Only problem for now is it keeps freezing up on me when I try to add turns for route directions.

I found that it does not like bike paths and non road routes. There are better Googlemap applications that do not freeze my system. I do not need the level of road following detail it gives.

I use www.2wheeltech.com. They are oriented towards building a file of rides across the country. no route following but never locks up on me.

I've never heard of routeslip before so thanks for this thread. I've already got a bunch of Utah rides entered in, this thing is great! I encourage anyone in Utah to add more route maps, I'm always looking for fresh rides!

I have just discovered routeslip as well, and totally love it. I am making it my personal mission to load it with routes here in Germany.

Have they figured out how to edit a route that has already been created without starting from scratch?

I think bikely.com is better. The last time I tried routeslip, I read the blog from the guy who started it saying that he did not have time for it.

That was the last time I visited.

There's:

www.routeslip.com
www.bikely.com
www.gmap-pedometer.com

All of them have a method to edit out mistakes at the time of creation. Bikely has a way to insert points as well.

I tired both routeslip and bilekly, and bikely was waaaaaay better. The software did more and worked better for me.

Do any of these have a "follow the road" feature? -- I'm tired of laboriously entering points on a long winding route.

TopRoute has follow the road.

It does have some problems with really long segments.

Hopefully these will be able to be "pushed down" to a GPS device for following along the way. I've got to read Routeslip.com with a bit more detail because on the surface it looks like a great tool to share routes with clubmates.
