What kind of bike is mine?

Ive had this bike for a while- since I was a kiddo! So Im getting back into the sport maybe.. One of my gear shifts doesnt work right, hopefully it can be fixed at my local Schwinn shop here close by.. Otherwise, I think the thing is really sharp looking.. I was going to sell it to pay for some things in my life but upon the pictures I got to thinking.. Mom wanted to go biking the other day and maybe Ill keep it!

I think I would consider it a cross training bike cause I heard somewhere on ebay: the thinner tires would make it not fully "mountain" bike..

What you guys think of it??!

Seems to me a typical LBS overhaul and some city/street tires would get you an excellent commuter. I'm in ATL also. Hit me up if you want to do some rides!

..it doesnt need tires so far.. holds air fine. I was just wondering what kind of bike u would classify it as. it works fine besides the gear shift that I will seek to get fixed soon.

It's not that it needs tires, but that slick tires are a lot easier and more pleasant to ride on the streets.

The bike appears to be an older style mountain bike, maybe even a hybrid, but I am no authority on bike I.D.

I'm in Clarkston. We have a PATH run right through here which can be a great place to learn to ride again. I am helping my girlfriend get reacquainted with riding on it right now. Today we're going out to Cobb County to the Silver Comet Trail - rail to trails, 60 miles of flat pavement.

Plenty of other good rides in this city too. Let us know if you fix that bike up!

Well it looks like a classic Mtn bike with a few alterations to suit road use to me. Hybrid?

Hybrid can mean anything realy and I've modified Mtn bikes for road use before and they work well. I currently have one as my commuter/beater bike.

Regards, Anthony
