Nashbar Slow Shipments
Is it just me or others have experienced this as well. I have been shopping at Nashbar for more than a year now, and everytime the shipment takes at least 8-10 days to arrive after they send it out. I am located in Southeastern US in a major city and all of my other mail arrives very quickly regardless of the origin place. I have received shipments from California within 3 business days by USPS. Amazon shipments typically arrive within 1 or 2 business days (regular free shipping) after dispatch.
I just dont understand what takes a nashbar shipment so long to arrive. It doesn't even seem like they use USPS anymore for standard shipping. Because the shipping labels are not like the USPS ones.
What do you guys think?

I've waited 4 days max with standard shipping through Nashbar. More often than not I just use the coupon codes to upgrade the shipping to overnight or 2nd day air.

The longest it's taken for a Nashbar order was 8 days. I placed an order on a sunday and next monday it arrived. That's about what I was expecting too as most internet orders I've made take about a week to arrive (unless I get 2nd day shipping).

I also live in the SE and only once have I used non-express shipping and it took well over a week for my order to arrive. Since then, I always use 2nd or 3 day shipping. If I remember correctly, non-express shipped items come via USPS. I am not sure if that has anything to do with shipping times but who knows.

Nashbar ships from Canfield, OH. I am very surprised that it gets to California earlier than here in Nashville, TN

I put in a small nashbar order then the next day a performance order. Then a few days later another performance order.
I got both performance orders at my door before nashbar even gave me a shiping code....
performance destoryed there speed and even there prices hands down. So unless nashbar has somthing I need that performance doesnt its obvious where my business will go.

With Nashbar regular shipping I waited 2 weeks for an item, and to think ProBikekit orders (originating in England) routinely get to me in 5 days with no added charge for shipping!

One place I found charges you "oversized" shiping for tires dont remember who that was. If it was Nashbar that was BS but I think it was a cheaper site.
Performance has that .99$ shiping with the cupon I use that for all my orders

My order (I'm in Canada) took less than 2 weeks to get here. Had to pay about $16 in customs/clearance upon pickup. Performance on the other hand got here in about 3 days but I had to pay almost $90 in customs/brokerage since they use fed ex. No more orders from Performance for me

I ordered something from Nashbar on Monday that I absolutely needed this week, so I ordered it UPS Blue (2-day) shipping. Arrived Wednesday, right on schedule.
But Tuesday I ordered something that I didn't need in a hurry, so I just requested Ground service. It arrived today, 3 days later!
UPS publishes Ground Time-In-Transit maps based on your location that tells you the *GUARANTEED* transit time for Ground Shipping from anywhere in the US & Puerto Rico. Go to https://www.ups.com/maps?loc=en_US and enter your zip code. Sometimes there's no point in paying for expedited shipping services when something is coming from nearby.

Performance's cheapest shipping is a pain for me.
Previous order: total of 11 days (a pair of tires)
On it's way: scheduled to be here after 10 days.
I use the 99c shipping on both, next time I'll use the 2nd day (I have team performance)

In the past, my standard ground delivery would arrive within 3 to 4 days. I would request FDX over USPS. Now they don't allow you the choice. I ordered a bunch of parts Monday after midnight. I figured the package would go out Monday. it went out Tuesday using USPS. I hope it arrives Monday before the 4th or i'll have to wait until Wednesday. Generally, I find USPS ground delivery sucks.

Standard shipping from Nashbar is usually USPS to here and it can take 3 days or 10 days. Worst is that you have no idea which it will be. For just a few xtra bucks I usually go for the 2 day shipping and it comes in 2 days and I can see the progess online.

I started using Nashbar in the mid-80s. Back then I would pay for UPS ground and would often get it within a day or two. Yes, sometimes I got it NEXT DAY!!! The year the UPS workers went on strike, they started using other vendors, and apparently changed their contracts. Now, no matter who they use the delivery times are sh***y. In the last two years, I have not had a single Nashbar order that took less than a week, and one that took 3 weeks. Lest it sound like I'm blaming the shippers, I've also caught Nashbar waiting several days before my order left their shipping dock - i.e. a Tuesday afternoon order finally getting shipped Firday evening. I might accept excuses for that if the items had been out of stock for a few days - but they weren't.

Well, here's my $0.02 worth.
I ordered 10-16-2006 past their closing (cutoff) time, and received my order today 10-21-2006 with regular ground shipping. So it only took 4 days.

I live in the Seattle area, about half-way across the country from Nashbar. My orders, shipped via FedEx Ground Home Delivery, always take 6-7 calendar days from the time of placing the order. And they charge me sales tax as well, now that they are owned by Performance, and Performance has stores in Washington. I only order from Nashbar items that are deeply discounted and/or not stocked by Performance, since I get the Team Performance dividend and free two day shipping from them.

Hmm, placed a Nashbar order on 10-11 and today is 10-23 and it still hasn't arrived. Nothing critical, just spares so I'm not going crazy. Yet.
