The more I run or bike, the more I get these small raised welts of irritation on the top of my thighs. Maybe one or two a week. They're almost like pimples or whiteheads. Reason suggests they may arise from my loose shorts rubbing against my thighs, but I'm not so sure. Does anyone else experience this? What do you do to prevent them? I hate these things -- they're disgusting. http://www.dietrologia.net/emoticons/emot-argh.gif |
Yep, that's ingrown hair for ya!

Don't wear whatever shorts you've been wearing. Get some Lycra.

I never had that problem from crappy shorts, but I did end up with non-cancerous lumps on my balls from a combonation of a seat with crushed rails and cheap shorts. Bottom line is, invest in good shorts.

Once, after a 7 day tour where I only brought two pairs of shorts and nothing to wash them with, I got a yeast infection on the inside of my thighs. No joke (I'm male). Nothing worked to get rid of it until my sister-in-law, a nurse, suggested using a feminine cream (Monistat). It went away after a day or two.

Exfoliate and, as mentioned above, clean with alcohol.
