Bikes: One brand-less build-up, and a Connondale Synapse Carbon Ultegra Disc. A nicer bike than I need, but it was a good deal, so... ;-)

Online Shopping?
I was wondering if anyone has encountered an online supplier that you trust. I just got badly disappointed by Bike Nashbar and reading the recent thread about the guy who got a set of USED shorts from Performance just wierded me right out.
I do support my local LBC, but sometimes I order online as well. It would be good to know who people found worthwhile.

Nashbar, Performance, Walbike and Harris Cyclery. Also I always check out the sales tables at any LBS I can find never know what cool stuff I might pick up. Last score was 2 sets of road fenders for $5 a pair! Traded one set off for a inner chain ring for my touring bike

I use the net to check prices of major items I want to buy and then offer the LBS to match the price- If they don't, I will still probably buy from the LBS unless they are way out on price. I can normally get 10% discount from the shop and if you take postage into account- There are not many occasions when I buy on line.
However- Finding a good online supplier is not hard. Ask around, see if anyone has had any problems, Read the magazines for any bad reports and finally- If you are not happy with the service- Complain. A genuine complaint will get quick results- If it Doesn't- then spread the word and write to the mags- They will print anything about biking so always use as a threat.
I use two online suppliers and I trust them. Had a problem once on an order and they rectified it that night. Only thing is items of clothing- These have to be tried for size so I never get these things Mail- order.

even though i've had issues with performance.... i still use them... they're cheap! and i get my stuff quickly (if it's in stock!) order it wednesday... have it by the weekend! you have have to be diligent and keep on them... .if they don't ship something... call the next day and make them ship it overnight... their expense! you still get it in 2 days...
refunds... keep at them til you get them!
they aren't and easy company to deal with... but they do eventually make it right....

I've had at least one good experience with the following (nothing bad yet):
velowear.com (just don't use USPS shipping. Upgrade to UPS.)
Performancebike.com
bicycleclothing.com
rei.com (technically I order online and pick it up at a store along my commute route).

i "bought" a new sram x.9 drive train, derailleurs and shifters from these lame asses.
they charged my credit card but have not responded to three emails and three weeks later have not shipped my order.
i've used almost every other big online vendor with no problem. these guys should be avoided at all cost
unless you like the possibility of being in my shoes and buying the same stuff again and fronting the money so you can wait for them to refund your credit card. Boy i sure would like to ride my mountain bike.
jerks, at least they could respond to an email and let me know.

bikeparts.com is my first choice. Prices are only "okay", but they ship USPS. I use a post office box, so UPS & Fedex are out, unless I want everything I buy to pass company inspection when it's delivered at work. If anyone knows of others, I'll add them to my list.
In terms of price, by the way, the LBS is almost always better, but if they don't stock my stuff, I've learned to go online right away. They group their orders to save shipping costs on the small accessories, and I just don't want to wait two weeks for my order to be sent in.

Ya know, r.hassenstein, it may be time to have a consultation with your credit card company on this issue. In fact, there's something about the name that reminds me of Blue Sky Investments. I think you should call the card carrier and see if it's late enough to get them involved.
Anyway, thanks for the tip.

I've purchased many things from Performance and Nashbar and have never had a problem. And recently I ordered a saddle from Wallbike and had no problems either.

I've dealt with Nashbar for many years, never a problem. With a large outfit like that, there are bound to be some mistakes in a given period, but they seem to be very seldom.
