Is this bike worth $100 ?

I am thinking of buying this bike, and the asking price is $100. Is it worth it?

Yes, I know it's older, but I just need a cheap bike to get off road with, and money's tight.

Not sure yet. It's a 15" frame, which is what I need, but I will be having to meet the seller halfway, as it's a pretty good distance from me.

For $100? No.

I'd pay $70 max

I ride a 15 1/2" bianchi and am 5'6" short. If it fits then go for it.

Is that a threadless stem stuck on a threaded steerer tube? It looks crooked in the photo. Something strange there.

Oh come on now...a 15" MTB would be way too big for someone 4 ft tall. I ride a 37 cm frame and I am 5'2" with a 26" inseam.

The stem looks wierd, like supcom said. Can the seller produce some bill of sale showing that he bought the bike from someone, or a bike shop?

After you check to see that, can you ride the bike for long periods of time? Does it fit you well enough that you can tolerate it?

I'd get an explanation on the stem/fork issue. If that is satisfactory AND it fits and you see no other issues, than it is probably worth it.
