Second Chance Cycling
I am posting this in this section since I could not find a more appropriate place for it.Please pardon me if it should go somewhere else. A couple of months ago, I suffered a major heart attack during a 30 mile ride. Luckily for me, my brother who rides with me knew CPR and so did another rider on the road that day who happened to be a physician. Make a long story short i had a stent put in and went through cardiac reahab. Now, I am back on my bike riding on average 15 mile a day. When, I started riding again I did a few goggle searches looking for guys/gals who have undergone the same sort of thing and have gotten back to riding. That's when i found a group from Scotland I believe that call themselves "Second Chance Cycling Club". From what I understand its simply a group of guys not necessarily former cardiac patient who ride together as a club/group. That said, I would like to invite others who are interested in riding together around my area to PM me. It can be completely informal and simply for fun and the love of the sport not to mention a decent workout. I am currently riding an avg of 15/mph as you can see nothing earth shattering but its fun and i think for those in the same situation we can all benefit from riding together. Anyway its my way I guess of trying to getting a riding group/club together in Northern Bergen County, New Jersey. I apologize for such a lengthy post.

This sounds trite, but I respect you for getting back on and continuing to hammer. A number of people would have quit the sport entirely.

If you don't get a response here, you might post in the 50+ forum. I've read there of a number of cyclists who are getting back at it after a setback like yours. Good luck with it...
