Performance bicycle
I just found out that there is a performance bicycle nearby, meaning less than 45 minute ride. So, Im wondering if it makes more sense just to shop there. Ill have to pay sales tax on my web orders, plus delivery. Will the coupons online make up for shipping and delivery time? seems to me that it would only make sense to order online if there was 20% off plus .99 cent shipping. Any thoughts? I havent gotten up there yet, but do they keep crappy inventory at the sites and have more available online? Ill check it out this weekend.
This may solve the problem of wanting to order some stuff from on site and some stuff from another site and getting hammered with two shipping charges.

In what way? Do shipping charges decrease, on average, the more your buying?

hello
A 20% discount on a $1000 web purchase plus tax and delivery vs. no discount on that same $1000 item plus tax you pick up yourself at the retailer. You do the math...

I doubt i will ever spend more than $200 at one time, and usually much less. But, yes, I get the picture. I actually didnt even consider a purchase of $1000 at an online store.

Sometimes they have better deals on some items at the stores. I was looking for sunglasses at the Chicago Performance store and the ones on sale in the catalog for $30 rang up for $15 at the store. I think they were trying to move in store stock. It's hit or miss, but the stores usually have a lot of stuff so it isn't a bad place to wander around.

They will honor any web price (their own) at the store. I bought a light on sale at the store for $129. Noticed that night that the web sale price was $119 and they gave me a $10 refund.

Also, if you have the team membership thingy, you get 10% back and 2nd day shipping upgrade. Something to consider.
