What rain shell do you have?
Im in the market for a good rain shell. REI has a Sugoi for $115 that looks pretty nice. ANy opinions on shells? The more waterproof the better.

Same with me. Performance chepo for $9.00. I only whip it out in emergencies. (I live in San Diego). It fits my needs fine.

I use a Rain Cape for about 90% of my wet weather riding. It is light weight and packs down very small. It is cool in warmer weather.

2 ply goretwx if you are not in cold climates- 3 ply if you are. Bought my Goretex 8 years ago and its 3 ply. The one to wear if its wet and still as good on looks and as waterproof as the day I bought it. All the other waterproofs still look good but only last about 3 seasons.

Most breathable waterproof shell you can buy. The material is 2x the breathability of the best goretex according to us army materials testing lab. Its also the only cycling specific jacket made from that material that also has pit zips and a back vent.
Anything else either is not waterproof or if it is waterproof, is no where near as breathable.

Has anyone tried the Illuminite stuff (including the Performance-specific jacket?) I really like the HiViz green color (supposed to be even more visible than the flourescent yellow that is so common on bicycle wear). Does the Illuminite treatment wear off over time?
Right now I'm using a Pearl Izumi Zephyrr. It's nice but I hate not having a back pocket. I also have an Eastern Mountain Sports "Thunderhead" jacket which has pockets all over the place, removable hood, and pit zips, but is jet black (got it on clearance so I couldn't be picky).
I use my stuff more as a windproof shell for cooler weather, as I generally avoid riding in the rain. I can wear the PI in the depths of winter and just layer under it.

Well, I went to REI last night and picked up a NEON green Pearl Izumi one. Looks like I am going to be wearing it all day on saturday, so I hope it works!

Rainshield O2 Cycling Rain Jacket, super light weight, no mesh liner & VERY breathable. I've commuted in torrential downpours whilst remaining dry inside & out. Comes with a waterproof stuff sack & packs up nice & tiny.
